24 foot Fountain

Hello,

Can anyone give me an opinion on a 24' Fountain? Does it compare to the 24' hulls like Pantera, Corsa, etc. or is it more of a smooth water boat? Is there any room in the cockpit?

Thanks for the help.

I beleive it was built as a ski/tow sports boat. Reggie wanted something for his barefoot water skiing activities. With that said, it probably has a fairly shallow dead rise.

Boat is not real good in rough water, but in 6-12 inch chop it runs real good.It need a little chop to get loose. We run about 78-80 mph on the gps.

I bought a new one and was not too happy. My first boat was a 25 Checkmate Convincor and it had a 24 degree bottom, sold it to buy the 24. I sold the 24 and bought a 29 with twin 502s. Love it and still own it today. Runs 93 MPH now with 502 EFIs, slightly modified to 575 HP.

If you look farther in the fountain section you will find where a friend of mine has a 24 with a pro charger , runs around 90 and I have seen it go. he has pics and all. But it is a flat water boat unless you have BIG BALLS AND A DEATH WISH.

If your looking for a all around boat don't buy a 24. Like everybody has mentioned they can be a handful when it gets choppy.

Carny,
Have you been out on that snowmobile yet?? I went to see your buddy Joe at Ceder Pines the other day. He was busy trying to get the groomer fixed. Trail were real good.
