Is it possible that I own the Fastest 24 CS on the planet????

I'm all over the internet looking at boat forums. OSO, Speedwake etc. etc.. I have yet to see or hear about another 24 CS that runs in the 90's. Anybody know of such a creature? i just figured it would be kind of cool to know.....you know, for bragging rights. :cool-smiley-011::D Thanks for any info!

Need,

You can be sure there are some out there. I'll confirm that speed for you as I go by in the new boat.:party-smiley-004:

Lets get the SPBA Forum here on OSO rolling again.

Kelly O,
Gary was telling me you picked up a 38 Fountain.:grinser010: It's about time you caught on. :cool-smiley-011:Now you can say with absolutely no doubts that you are an official member of the SPBA/Fountain Owners Group. Welcome aboard!

Rumor has it, you witnesed the 24's awesome display of speed and knew the end was near!::greenchainsaw::boat:

You do have the fastest center console. Fountain just did a speed record trial for the fasetest CS and I was surprised it was only around 87.

It's not a center console. It's Reggie's old Ski Boat. They stopped making them in 98' . 24 feet of 17 degree hull. Pure Magic on calm lake waters. Put a 1 foot chop in front of me and I'm done for! :D

Nice little boat, can't wait to see it this summer

Need-the-Speed 11-24-2007 08:22 PM

Thanks Bill
I just couldn't stay away! I figure I will be able to tow this one behind the cruiser. :D I Don't think it will do me to much good in the Poker Run. It gets real big air on not so big water.

That is nice. Thanks for the pics,

Hi Need,
Always liked the 24, also fit the budget when I was looking. I thought the stock 502 put the 24 at 80. How did you pick up +10mph?

Best,
Tom

With a stock 502 Reggie's water test sheet that came with this boat was at 76 mph. The 502 in this 24 has had a little work. In addition to the Stage 1 Procharger spinning 8 lbs. of boost, the internals have been beefed up pretty good. It also has Gil Mani's, 509 c.i., etc. etc.. At the end of the year a good buddy and former owner of this boat handed me a Labbed 36p. He wanted me to get a little run time in the boat with a 34p (a bit slower). I'm hoping to get some pics in the spring running in the 95 mph range. :cool-smiley-011:
Very fun boat if you live on a nice flat lake!

Thats actually kind of a funny story......The first or second time I took the boat out for a cruise I'm just getting up to speed 75, 80, 85, I'm looking at the dash and see a fiant flicker on the oil gauge. I immediatley back the boat down and shut, the engine down. I'm looking all over the place, checking dipstick, looking for Blow by, etc., etc, and come up with nothing. Start the boat up again, get up to speed and see the same thing, faint blinking of the oil pressure light. I have to tell ya, felt like my stomach fell out my A$$hole. I whip it into my buddy Chambers dock and he being the engine master mind that he is, tells me to take off the sending unit and slap on a mechanical unit he just happens to have set-up in his shop. Approx. 10 minutes later Gary grabbed his dig. and we headed out to get a reading. Thankfully (THANK YOU GOD!!) I had a faulty sending unit. In addition to the oil guage he took the pic of the dash as well.....you know to check the voltage gauge:D:cool-smiley-011:
Thank god for friends that know how $hit works!

I don't think so!

There is a 24 at Tahoe that is probably faster. I think he runs mid 90's at 6200 ft elevation. That translates to well over 100 at sea level.

The name of the boat is Skip Along!

The owner of Skip Along has a nuts the size of softballs! It gets a little hairy in the 90's. I'm not sure if I would want to see over a buck...........well maybe. :drink::cool-smiley-027:

Yeah.....I've been hearing that rumor for a few years now. I guess the owner doesn't bring it out much. Everytime he gets on it, rivets start popping out. :cool-smiley-027:

Ah yes, the elusive Blue Fin Kilo Boat. We heard them testing after dark in a secluded section of the canal. Word is it has the experimental quad brushless trolling motor set-up. We ran to catch a glimpse but had to take cover from the rivet heads being rapid fired into the woods.

So yes Need, you still are the man !
