Fountain has done their homework on that set-up. We ran Jammin on the James Poker run in a 38/700's, their was a 07 35 that ran with us that has the same staggered set up. It was a very nice boat. Quick considering that they are N/A motors. If you watch the video of the run this year we are at the bottom of the screen when the first leg starts, both boats putting up large rooster tails at the start. Congrats, I know you will love the boat.

think about it...back in 2000 the F2 35 race boats with HP500efi's (no cockpit or cabin race layup) would run 86-88 or so. Add 25 hp per engine, staggered set up, nice props and tune it all and these pleasure boats are running 100+mph!

You are so right. Fountain did extensive testing on this boat and tried several different ideas. We did not get to see it until it was totally dialed in. But, I think everybody at Fountain got to drive it including Reggie. The main changes from the original staggered 35 set up are the 7" Latham stand off boxes, blueprinted bottom and cut off hubs on the Herring props. It has a very high X-dimension with the 2" shorties but with the set back it is not too hard to get on a plane. We were told that it is set up pretty much like their race boats.

We remember your boat from the Jammin on the James Poker Run and I have a copy of the DVD. Your 38 w/700's is a very sweet ride. We also ran in that same poker run in my 32 Fever. My buddy, who actually owns the new staggered 35, rode with me. He spent a lot of time that weekend talking to the guy that owned the 2007 35 w/staggered 525's. That was the boat that really got him excited about the new staggered set up. He had a hard time deciding whether to buy a 38 w/700's or the 35 w/525's. When the dealer managed to get this special edition 35 built, that helped him make up his mind. You are right about the rooster tails. I was a little surprised the it actually throws a bigger rooster tail when the drives are trimmed all the way in. My buddy is loving this boat but, what's not to love. So true, my 35 Lightening Classic, is a 1997, with 525's SC's in it will run right around 80 - 83 mph when everything is perfect.
