Ok so I just picked up this 1990 38 Fever, it was a repo so I haven't talked to the previous owner. I have talked to a few people from the area it was repo'd from and they don't know this boat. All I know is that it was kept indoors by its condition, has #4's on it, had blower motors in it and that the last owner bought it from lake Cumberland marine. It looks like the checkers were added and it seemed like it had the name RED LINE on the side near the front.
Just would like a little back ground on it so i know what direction to go with it. It has no power and I know what i would like to build but if i know what it had and what it did would be a good starting point |

The drive centers are 34" and the x dimension is 16 and it came with the tall decks from Fountain. You can call them with your serial number and they can tell you how your boat was equipped when it left them, and maybe even fax you the build sheets. |
wasnt Redline a California boat, the Procharger poster boat??......I could be mixed up on that but West Coast for sure.......I think it was for sale in Hot Boat for quite awhile....... Redline was down the whole side of the boat if its the one Im thinking about......you might call Teague Custom Marine and ask them about it......doug

I was thinking about calling both Fountain and Lake Cumberland, just didn't know how responsive they would be. I actually have the guys name it got repo'd from, just didn't want to insult him by calling and saying , " hey i just bought your boat you couldn't afford".
Is there a specific # for Fountain I would call? I did originally buy this to resell it but it is way to nice to just let go . |

That was a strong running boat. Saw it out a couple times. Hows it doing? You got a great deal on that boat.

A buddy had a 1989-1990 38 with 500EFI's, Huber 1250's and #4's (the boat had bigger power before he bought it). I seem to remember that setup ran low 70's but all-day, everyday. The boat was destroyed in a warehouse fire 2-3 years ago and he'll never remember what props, etc. it had on it.
|
Those non-stepped 38's are very solid boats but it will take quite a bit of HP to get it going.
|
There was a 38 down here for sale a couple of years ago that had 800hp+ a side and was rigged with #3's that could get into the 80's.
|
so.......did you find out the history??
|
No I keep coming up empty, Lake Cumberland Marines computers are down so they can't look it up. Fountain just has a performance report but I don't know from when. I paid for a background check and info on the old owner but come up with nothing just a bunch of addresses.
I talked to a few people from the area it was at and they don't know the boat at all , and one is a Fountain guy and Mechanic. Really wish I could come up with something, I'd like to know where the old power is and when the updated paint was put on. |
What area of Ohio is the boat from?? Not that it matters just wondering.
|
I still say westcoast......I have a picture of it in a mag article inside a westcoast shop......I'll keep browsing but I have ALOT of mags..........doug
|
The boat was repo'd out of Mason Ohio. the guys name was Ronald Flint 67 years old.
