ITS TIME!! what 32's are for sale?

Looking for 1998 to 2003, 32 foot fountain, of course ive seen the ones on OSO and boat trader, any others around?

Innov500s 12-10-2007 05:48 AM

I have a '98 32' fever with twin 500's. Clean fresh water boat. $69,900 I have a guy I think is buying it but he hasn't pulled the trigger yet. It's not in any adds yet so if interested I can send you pics.

Boomer35 12-10-2007 07:31 AM

pics please,

I believe Ocean performance has one too.

bob_t 12-10-2007 10:36 AM

Unless there is some specific reason you want a 32, I would look for a good, clean 35 pre-twin step 35 (lighnting, "classic" or executioner, depending on the specific year). Cockpit on a 32 is same size as that of a 27 Fever. Should be able to find a 35 for about the same money, and IMO, its a much nicer package. The 32's hull was not one of Fountain's better designs.

Boomer35 12-10-2007 11:10 AM

yea, ive thought of that, a 32 just seemed more managable to tow, dry dock ($$), gas $$, etc...........

sleeper_dave 12-10-2007 12:31 PM

Is there an overall height difference between a 27, 29, 32, and a 35, on a trailer?

I have my 27' in my garage with 8' to spare behind the boat, but only another 1" of clearance between the windshield and the top of the garage door opening.

bob_t 12-10-2007 02:52 PM

If I remember correctly (don't have my 2000 model catalog in front of me) there is only about 200 - 400 pounds difference between a 32 and 35 single step. 32 was either 7200 or 7400 dry weight and 35 single step was 7600, dry. The 35 twin step was 8500 dry! There is a significant diffence in height between the 32 and 35, with the 35 having more freeboard than the 32. The 35 twin step has even more freeboard. The engine compartment in a 32 is tight, at best. The 35 has a better access to the front of the engines and a little better along the outboard sides. Working on the inboard side of either the 32 or 35 is a real b*tch. I dare you to try to change a bilge blower in any of their side by side twins!

My 27 fit under a standard 7' door with a couple inches to spare. Torsion trailer.
Had to install an 8' tall door for the 32's to go in, with a few inches to spare. Leaf spring trailer

Boats sits higher on leaf spring trailers.

Boomer35 12-10-2007 03:57 PM

what speeds and drives? with a trailer

was that the boat on OSO a while ago with a performance trailer in michigan but registered in VT?

No my boat was never in Michigan. I've owned this for 5 years it came from Kentucky. It has a tri axle Manning trailer. It has bravo ones with 29 pitch hydramotive 4 blades. Fountains performance sheet says 82 mph but I have gps 84 in good water conditions.

US1
It does have shorepower and a small fridge.

Boomer35 12-10-2007 06:39 PM

Yes they do, I had a 2000 with twin 385's in it, ran out around 74 mph.
I would agree, if you can, go with the 35, the difference in free board is unbelievable, and a better ride.
I had a friend who had the 32 and sunk it in the ocean, water came over the back too fast for the bilges, went to the bottom of the ocean.

Mine's on a leaf spring trailer right now, and it fits under a 7' door with about 1" to spare. An 8' door would be a huge modification to my garage, the whole header beam over the door would have to change.

I don't anticipate keeping my boat in the garage during the boating season, but it's nice to be able to keep it in there during the winter. If i'm just pulling it into the garage in the winter and out in the spring, I can let the air out of the tires and strap the suspension down. The military does that to get trucks on planes, no reason I can't use the same technique! I can also get my boat lower on my trailer if I need to by taking a couple of inches off the bunks. I could probably do the same if I upgraded to a 32' or a 35', it's just a question of whether it would be enough to get it in the garage. Or, maybe I could take off the windshield.

Just a what-if right now though, it'll be at least a few years before I can afford to upgrade boats. With gas prices where they're at, I'm glad I only have one engine to feed.

US1 Fountain 12-11-2007 03:46 PM

I had to raise my header also, Wasn't a really big job. I had 1' spacers above the header to the bottom of the truss. Jus tpopped them out and slide the header up. Gable end, so not a load bearing wall. All work was done form the outside. Didn't even fugged up the drywall. :)

If you doend up with a 32 at some time, one on a torsion 'might' fit under a 7' door. Be close. Also if it has a fairing, that is good for a couple inches of savings, over th plexy glass w/s with the deflector.

I have this one for sale, 1997 32' Fountain w/502mpi's, around 200 hours, trailer...........all for around $59,900.00

whiplash22 12-26-2007 08:56 AM

I have a friend and customer that just told me he is interested in selling his 32 fever. It is a 1996 and it is in great shape. It has 360 hours on the hull and around 50 hours on the motors. Someone did a bad job on winterizaton and froze both motors. The boat sits on a Roadrunner triple axel trailer and he is looking to get 55,000 to 56,000. If you are interested you can call me and I will hook you up to work the deal. He was going to send pictures and I will post them as soon as I get them. I have done all the service on this boat the last two years. My number is 717 575 1840.
