Rub Rail where to buy?

Who has the most reasonable prices?

I have the White plastic outside, with a white rubber insert.

I am replacing all of the rubbber insert, but only a section of the outside needs to be done. Thanks, Tom

I bought mine from Fountain. It was very reasonable.

Taco is the manufacturer. Can you find a port supplu near you? It'll be a fraction of the price.

Here's a link;

I think it's the V12-0303 but I'll have to check.

I replaced my white insert a couple yrs ago. Ordered thru WM's special order division. The stores and on line sites only sell it in a few lenghts. I wanted 1 single peice, no joints. Taco brand.

Did you replace it with stainless steel? I was told you have to replace the entire thing, not just the insert. Is that true?

Lofty 01-21-2008 05:42 PM

The stock rubrail will not accept a ss insert.

do a search on here, there is a site called something like rub-rail.com, not sure, but they have it all very reasonable

Lofty is correct. The SS insert uses a different rubrail. I replaced my insert only with new.

When I replaced the white rubrail insert on one of my fountain's, I found that Fountain had the best price, which was a suprise! They told me how much I needed and I ordered a couple of feet extra "just to be sure", and I had just about that much extra when I finished installing it.

I had to replace mine and contacted Fountain last month and was told that West Marine was a distributor of Taco brand rub rails. They are available in 20' sections and the prices are very reasonable.

I bought a new one from Fountain several years ago when I couldn't get gas spillage out of the rail. Don't fill my boat anymore when winterizing.

I did not get measurements of my rail yet, to know what model number it is. It does appear to have been done before. Does this look like standard Fountain Factory to you guys?

rub rail

I have a 91' 42 w trips' also. The rub rail on your boat was used from mid 90's to 05/06. I have the insert in stock & can get the rub rail within a week.
