I need guidance in obtaining a bimini for a 38 Fever. I know it will look like hades but due to health reasons doctor has prescribed staying out of the direct sun, so I'd rather go with a bimini as opposed to no boating.

I had a bimini top made by a local boat canvas shop, they did a nice job, when it is up you have to limit your speed to 40-50mph. When it is folded down you can do what ever you want. Cost was about $1,000.00. I only have one picture and that is of it down. There are two sets of mounting brackets, one is about 18" ahead of the other. You use the forward mounts when the top is up, when folded down you move the top to the rear brackets, that way it is behind the motor hatch and you can open the hatches that way. See attached picture.

I have one that came with my 38' , no bows with it and I wont use it so if you'd like it for a reference for someone to make one I'm sure i could ship it to ya. Actually its more of a full canvas with clear sides from what I can tell.

I think you will be very happy with the bimini. I have used mine almost every time out for several years. I have the one from Fountain that you can stand and walk around under. It also has support poles so you can leave it up at speed but I have never used them. I have gone mid 60's without them and don't even see any seam tears.
