How m,uch to totally re-skin a 38SC?

I'm semi- interested in a boat listed in the classifieds here. One problem that can't be overcome is the color of the vinyl. Check it out:

Any ideas how much something like this would cost to totally re cover?

over 20K easily if you wanted to do the inside too. I just re did my 27 just the cockpit and sunpad it it costed me about 10K. That's with high grade marine vinyl and great stitch work

I guess I would be telling myself that the cabin could wait, cockpit and sunpad would need attention right away.

I could send you pics but I'm not sure how to post them since I am not a member who pays.

PJ,

You may want to consider painting the vinyl. I know it sounds crazy, but I have spoken with a guy in the northern part of the bay and he had his OL leather painted, by a guy who has a shop and painted his own fountain cockpit. Certainly an alternative, and it holds up when properly done. Let me know if your interested and I can put you in touch with him. His shop is in DE, around the Bear/Wilmington area I believe.

Replacement skins for a 35 direct from Fountain cost $5100, you can put them on yourself or get a local upholstery shop to do it for you.

Did Fountain do there own upholstery or was it subcontracted out. Also, for 92' boat, thnik they still have the ptterns? Guess you could use the existing ones as patterns as well.
