Just try it and find out results will vary from boat to boat

Good luck! |
93 35' turning in picked up 2mph

props in on that boat for sure for speed. also try switching to hydromotive 26 for 502 mag. my old 32 picked up a few with the hyrdos over the bravo props
|
thanks to all! i am running 26P hydros on 502's, b1, and stock. a gps mph 0f 78-79 @5000rpm's dont know if i am going to get much more with a dif. prop. i think i will try and c what happens though.

I swapped my hydros to spinning out mainly for the docking and backing up. HUGE difference. Didn't notice in loss of speed from the swap. Spinning in, the boat was loose on top end. I didn't care for that, so out was a win win situation for me.

I have a single engine boat, so this isn't an issue for me, but I have read a number of threads on this.
One issue i've seen brought up is that there may be an internal difference in a RH drive vs. a LH drive. You may be putting more strain on the drive by running it in reverse. I don't know how true this is, but if I were going to switch from in to out (permanently at least), or vice versa, I think i'd swap the LH and RH drives rather than just changing the hookup of the control cables. I'm sure running in reverse is fine for testing, just something to consider if you decide to make the switch permanent. |
Bravo drives aren't left or right design. Exact same drive. Just are tuned 1 different directions which is determined by which prop is on it. Nor does running in reverse have an effect.
The issue you may be thinking of, is that a Bravo set up to run a LH prop, is more likey to fail do to the upperward force of the verticle shaft, pushing up on the top cap. A Bravo set up with a RH prop has that force pushing downward, against more beef. |
