Completed this task today. Did it in less than three hours from start to finish. Using a heavy duty sanding block, I wet sanded with 800 until most of the paint, but not all, was gone. Then I changed to 1500 to finish the paint letter removal. I then used a buffing compound (Tru-Grit) to bring back the shine. Wiped the surface down with acetone to be sure it was perfectly clean and carefully applied the stick on letters. Looks awesome!

I was fortunate enough to get them at our dealer's cost which was $90. Not sure what the normal selling price would be.

Managed to find time this afternoon to take some pics and I also found a old pic with the old letters. The old pic is the one in the water. I am very pleased with how this turned out.
