I'm turning a 28 Hydro and can't get enough rpm out of it. I'm topping out around 4650 and need to be 5300-5400

Ok, it is a Hydro 4b 27", HC-CL27R Q4. VG shape no nicks, dings or issues. Reasonable offer and cover shipping and it's yours. Never going to work for me now so it needs to find a home.

I have a 26LH hydro turned and labbed to a 25LH excellent condition.

I 'm not going to be able to swing the 27.. I gotta find more power first..Maybe I can run with my hatch cover off and get more air into my motor.. If that gets me more RPM then I would be able to swing it..I'm gonna try it on Wedesday..( My birthday )..The old lady wants to try out the cabin on the lake when no one is around..So I'll try a couple things then.:D

What happens when you have to put the hatch back on?

If it makes a difference we will be making a custom ram air intake system .

Guys, becareful comparing Hydromotive to Mercury pitch. They Hydromotive is generally 1.5 bigger compared to Mercury Bravo 1's. A 28 Hydro is comparable to a 29.5 Bravo, if their was such a thing. When you lab the Bravo, the pitch gap gets a little smaller. Box stock props , Hydro's faster on top end, harder to get on plane, slip more in midrange, but will lock up and run faster on top end. A labbed Bravo 1 usually will run as fast on the topend as a Hydromotive, and will get on plane alot easier.
