You have to put the Tabs all the way down on a 27 Fever, drive all the way in. The X dim on the Fountain is shallower than your BAJA, thus more top end but hard to plane. I got my 2001 500efi 27 Fever on plane with 12 people on board one weekend, but I would never suggest anyone else doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like everyone says the Bravo prop will plane much better. It will give you better fuel milage at cruise speed too.
Getting on plane in the 27 Fountain requires full tabs and full down drive. Now for the trick. It will plane better with less throttle. It seems hard to believe but in most cases it will. Think about it this way. When you floor it and the nose goes sky high the stern is digging a huge hole in the water. To get on plane the boat must climb out of this hole. Therefore the smaller you can make the hole the easier it is to get on plane. It takes a while to get the hang of it but it will become second nature. What you have to do to acheive this changes with fuel amd people load but you can feel it. Everything else everyone said is true. A slight letting off as the boat is starting to come over helps greatly. You will get the feel of how much throttle is required and for how long before you let off and let the boat come onto plane. The first time I had 5 people in the boat it was embarrassing how long it took to get on plane. After I learned the boat even 6 people was acceptable. Good luck, Ron |

I don't know you might want to try them at least once. B1 4 blade had better performance than my quad 4 blades. You might want to just try.

Thank You Jeff, I don't think a 26 will be enough pitch, the bravos are lighter on pitch than the Hydros, I think a 28 would be the right number.
Contact B Blades. He is all over the prop talk post. He can rent you a prop to try.:D |
words of advice........never turn down an opportunity to try a prop!!!!
