What is the dry weight of a 99 42 lightning? Was wandering if my dodge 1500 4wd would be able to tow it about 60 miles.THe truck does have the towing package. Thanks D.

Marginal at best, be careful.

Dry weight is 9400lbs. Add 6 pounds for every gallon of gas you have on it, trailer and don't forget the usual crap every boat has, water..blah..blah. I bet your at 11K-12K pretty easy.

Daryl,

My 38 weighs 12,200 on the trailer with a half tank of gas. I had to tow mine home from the dealership with an F-150. Just make sure the brakes on the trailer work well on both sides. Also make sure when you stop it doesn't pull to one side. I adjusted the brakes out a bit before I started - It was not a comfortable tow!! The next week I sold the F150 and bought a 1 ton dually much nicer!!
