35 Lightning Set-ups and Speeds?

There is a thread like this going on the 38 Lightning so lets get one going on the 35 Lightning as well. Deal here is for the twin step hull Lightning vs the single step or Executioner hull. So what works the best on this hull?

Good thread idea, I am looking for input. 03 Lightning, AZSM upgraded 575's running low to mid nineties. Still running stock B1 32's. Looking for prop ideas.
X Dim 18 1/4 ". Standard XR lowers. Any benefit to sportmaster lowers ?
Would like to run labbed 5 blades to improve cruise efficiency without sacrificing top end.
Ragged, what happened with the Precision props ?

Not a 35, but 2001 42' Lightning, 575 SCis tuned by Precision Marine, 95 MPH @ 5400 rpms, 31 P5Xs, -2 Imcos. Slip is about 10% @ WOT. 50 MPH is at 3400 rpms 25% slip. I've run spacers and mid range slip goes down, but top end speed does also.

Thanks :D.

There is a lot of these out there and lots of info as well. The Precisions ran 94 in cool spring weather, they have been back to BBlades and labbed, which got the rpm back in the heat, Brett is going to make another adjustment for me, still a work in process.

Sounds like you are running pretty well, nice package.

I had a very late built 2000 35 Lightning twin step with low hour 500 EFI's. It had big shaft XZ drives with low water pickups and it ran 86-87 mph on GPS on local lake. Props were Hill labbed 30P B1's, turning in. Boat accelerated thru the midrange very well! Was a little sensitive to trim, in that if you overtrimmed it, at all, it would hit the rev limiters at about 84 mph. It liked the trim at about 4 on the indicators, for WOT, with 3 being about level, for reference. Tried stock 32P B1's but it was too much prop.

2005 35 525efi run 90mph all day long on 87-89 oct, I know this because all I see is the transom.

Looking for ideas........last weekend put a set of stock 34p B1's on. Very difficult to get on plane, gained 3mph @ 3500, 4mph @ 4000, able to turn them to 5200 in quick burst.
Why the planing issues ?????
My 32's do have some cup added that someone hammered on to the ends of blades, these plane easy every time every condition.
Looking at adding Sportmaster lowers, standard length since this set-up seems aggressive already.
Thoughts ???

I have been told by Brett at BBlades that there is something different with the design of the 34 Bravos. Apparently makes more difficult to get on plane, never really asked for the whole explanation, you might call him.

My 32 Bravos work well on plane as well and I have been considering trying some 34s as well. Just been holding off till I get a chance to talk to Brett again.

35 lightning needs sport masters with 1'' spacer and mercury racing cavatation/splash plates 19 1/4 is about as high as you can go without the props blowing out and they might do that anyway thats when its time to start using the tabs and making the hubs longer on the props to help get on plain. you can get that boat to about 97 or 98 with that setup and the nose wont hunt but there will be a little chim walk
