Expected Speed on a 27 Fever
Can anyone give me an idea of the kind of speed I could expect with the right prop on a 97, 27' Fever with a 500HP EFI motor?

low 70's. Once you get to about 75 they chine walk anyway so 72-73ish is about all you want out of them unless you want to drive through it.

Dialed in at 5350rpms should be at 74 gps with a 25 or labbed 26 Hydro, this is no fuel or any load on the boat. 17.5" Xdim
I actually have a couple of props I will let go if you want them (I have owned 3 27 Fevers) Got a 26 LH Bravo 1, only 20 hours run time and looks like new, 26 Hydro RH, about 80 Hours on it, in great condition. I will let both go for $400 plus shipping or $250 each. Let me know WILL:ernaehrung004: |

Handles better with a LH prop

I tried both L and R props and didn't notice any significant listing issues or performance gains. The best I ran In a '99 with a HP500 was 73gps. I do have a LH24 hydro forsale. $175takes it.

will, did you see any diffrence in speed and handling going to a rh prop?
I have also found Hydromotive props to be a hair faster than bravo 1, but they tend to blow out (cavitate) easier. As with everythig with a boat, its all a trade off.:ernaehrung004: WILL |
Thanks Guys, I appreciate all of your input.............

I had a single step 1996 27 Fever with an HP500 in it. Best I ever saw on GPS on our local lake was 76 mph. The chine walking was starting to get scary. It would start to walk around 74 mph, but this was on a rather cool fall day, low fuel, just my friend and I in the boat. It had a Hydro Q-IV LH 27 P that was labbed by Hydromotive. Also, the heads were milled a little when the valve train was gone thru, and the timing was advanced a little, but I always ran 91+ octane fuel. That boat always ran great, and when I sold it, my best friend bought it .... he still owns it, 7 years later! We were out on it a couple of times this past summer and it still runs and sounds great!
