Hey! New Member

First of would just like to say that I have been a big stalker of this site for awhile and have no idea why I havent registered, haha. I have found this site (and this specific fountain forum) a big help in choosing my next boat.I have just recently sold my Sea Ray and looking to get more into the performance boats. I am now about 99% sure the 27 Fever preferably with a 496 HO will be the one. Due to fuel economy, being closed cooled (less corrosion) and an easily trailered boat. Just wanted to say hey and hopefully Ill have some pics of my new purchase as soon as I come across the right deal.:drink:
Happy Holidays,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the board. You will be in good company, we all love our Fountains, they are fast, fun to drive, and extremely good handling. Further more there is a lot of knowledge available here so we all learn from each other.
David

I have a nice 29 fever for the price of a 27 . it is in the clasified section . it is a 1996 29 fever 500hp 39,995. nice boat with trailer. Tim

I have a nice 2004 27 with blue custom cyclone graphics and cyclone painted dash, monster gauges, etc, in the OSO classified, if you are interested. Trailer is not a myco, but the boat is very nice and I have it priced ~ $10,000 - $14,000 less than most others of the same year. Nothing wrong with the boat. I got a good deal on it, and will pass it on. Make me an offer, I know of a 35 Twin Step Lightning that I would like to buy, but need to sell this one first.

I would consider this one very hard, The 29 is much more boat than a 27. HP 500 while is not closed cooled, and does require more Maint, nothing sounds like a 500 HP. Also the 29 has a bigger cockpit and fuel tank.

I have a 2001 27 Fever with 500efi, I sold to my brother. Always on freash water in lift or wharehouse on Smith Mountain Lake. He may sell it, ( am am puttinghim in a bigger boat)

Yea I hear what your saying on the 29. Im going to keep my options open for sure before I jump into something im going to be disappointed with in the long run. Also quick question the 29 hull step is still a single with a deeper cut correct?

yes , the hull is still a single step . it's a nice boat . I just don't need it anymore , I bought a 35 with the same paint . the engine compartment is very nice and clean . Tim:ernaehrung004:

BAHAMA BOB 02-22-2009 03:26 PM

Hi my name is Bob Davis I live in New Bern N.C. I have a Fountain Fever and would like to know if there is anyone in my area who may be looking for a raft up or poker run person for some fun in the sun. I have had little luck trying to find people who like go fast boats in this retirement region. If its not a sail boat or a trawler then thay dont want you in their club. Any ideas of where these boats get together I would love to know even if its just to go to a good tie up for lunch or dinner on the water. Could use your help out there guys!!!!!

Yamaha 225 02-22-2009 06:41 PM

Congratulations!!! The 27 is really a cool boat. Like Reggie says about the 27 Fever, "It looks just like the big boats, it just sells for a small price...." :-)

People talk about speed and handling etc...., but have you ever tested what these small boats can take of abuse? We have one crazy dude here, the kind of guy who have dragster snowmobiles with NOS etc. He has a 1997 29 Fever with 850 hp (home made engine) and use it all year around. He told me he had been out in 6 meter swells, that is 18 ft. sea!!! He said the following (SIC): "If there are someone to beat this boat up, it must be me. This boat is indestructable!". And I actually BELIEVE this guy. I can't think of a better 27 or 29-footer.

Send us a few pics ;-)
