changing engine size?
Hey guys it's been a while since I've been to the forum, but I need some help. I've got a '90 27 fever with twin 502's which I've taken out to have freshened, but, I'm thinking of going to smaller blocks (5.7) is this going to be too much of an expense? do I have to change bell housings and all? What's your take anyone?
BTW, I'm interested in selling my 2 502's that have oversized crane cams, roller lifters, complete rebuilds with mid-rise intakes and two 750 hollies. 0 hrs built by Performance 1 in lexington, ky
I'm not sure what I'd want, maybe a trade? No dyno as of yet. |
If nothing is wrong with your current motors, don't change it. By the time you buy new 5.7's do teh work to make them compatible. You might as well sell your boat and take the other money and buy what you want??:ernaehrung004:

DON'T DO IT !!! Keep what ya got. You'll have a runner for sure. Not worth the weight you'll save by installing small blocks.
When did they put twin big blocks in a 27?? I have a 29 with twins.
DO YOU KNOW ANY ONE LOOKING FOR A 38 FT. FOUNTAIN FEVER:cool:
I'm assuming the '90 27 is considered the 29. It did start it's life with 454's but I put gen iv 502's about 6 years ago.
Leave the 502's.

I think after listening to your all suggestions, I'll leave the 502's, I might just put single barrell carb's on them to increase fuel efficiency. lol.
