Only one way to find out. Get a set of -3 lowers and add spacers until you find the sweet spot. You may also want to look into adding Bmax uppers or just go with NXT / #6 drives if you plan to keep it a while.

You need the IMCO uppers in order to run the -3's. They won't work on XRs.

Did the uppers with IMCO's already. One of the XR's had XZ gears in it and broke. Consecutive serial numbers, marked XR and never been opened. Merc said thats just the way it is.
32 Lab 15 5/8 Maximus 96MPH on rev limiter. Planes OK, best mid range. Cracked one after 2 years use

34 Stock Bravo 96 MPH on limiter. Planes OK, midrange sucks, definitely plays catch up with throttle opening

32 P5X 96 MPH on limiter. Planes better than the Max

32 Stock Bravo 93 MPH on limiter. Gets on plane the best. Cracked 4 in one summer and went to the Max's.

30 Maximus 90 on limiter. Similar to the 32Max

The boat handles well with all the props I've tried. With the P5X it was glass out and at 96MPH the bow would move in a cyclical motion. It was very subtle and no steering input was necessary.
I don't want to change props until I decide on a drive. Hopefully I can change ratio and use the props I already have.
I think the -3's are a bit extreme?
Hopefully someone can get an idea of what's happening with this boat.
Thanks for the input
Rob
