Info on older 12meter 40ft boats
 
Hey guys looking for info on the older 12meter boats.

What are the good and the bad about them???????

How well do they ride in the waves and any other info you have about them.

Seems alot talk down about the 40footer. should one stay away from one

I own a 1985 12 meter that I completely did over. It has a set of 800h.p. with Konrad drives the boat does low 90s on a good day. The boat loves 3-4 footers goes right over them and turns like it's on rails. The down side of it is that you need big power to get it to go.

No problem, where I live I do most of my boating in the ocean. To be honest the boat needs some kind of chop underneath it. When the water is flat it just sticks to it no matter what I do.

Same problem as with all the old conventional hulls. :mad:

Got 160hrs on the clocks....maybe end of 09 for the LG run and then leave it there for rebuild.

Thanks...I wish they still made them with straight bottoms, rides like a dream in the Lake Michigan snot.


Correction...They do make them like that again, they are called Baja's by Fountain.
