has anyone done it, or is it even possible?

No idea where you'd find room other than under the rear seat. I just leave mine tied to the rails and left hanging overboard. Always ready to raft up and frees up storage space. I hate clutter. :)

Well I seen a pic of some that had them mounted on the bottom side of there engine hatch, there's prolly a foot or more between the engines and back seat, wondering if they could be done like that goin the width of the boat, & maybe put some kind of quick release on the mounts for if needed to get n there to work or look around?
