Question: Biggest Fountain?
Hi, guys - I was looking though some posts on Twitter and some guy direct-messaged me about his "65' Fountain w/ twin turbo caterpillars"...I won't even state the HP he mentioned...
:D Now, I don't know Fountains that well, but has Reggie EVER made a boat that big? Or maybe a one-off model or something in combination with another manufacturer? Supposedly this is a cruiser of some type - I would certainly call any BS - but then I'd like to be absolutely sure about it. [still shaking my head...] |
Fountain did make at least 2 65 footers 4-5 years ago......they are "cross-breed" cruiser types that supposedly would run near 60mph. I'm not sure they ever made anymore though. (I remember seing pics of 2 of them side by side)
|
Yep,,,and they actually did run 60 + !!!!!
|
Yes they did make a 65 foot cruiser, I think 10 were built. I asked reggie about it years back at the NY boat show and he said he lost a ton of money building that boat.

a few images for you!!

65 Super Cruiser! Awsome boat. We all need one of those. I do think they only built two of them though. National Marine had one back in the day I think.

At the very end of the Racing Heritage Part 1 video there is a short segment about the 65 Fountain. It's short but at least you get to see it running for a few seconds. |
The above link may not work....the video is under the media section on the Fountain Powerboats website. It is called Racing Heritage Part 1.

Based on pictures he sent me, I think he's BS'n. Even if one of them does have a big Fountain logo on the [glass cockpit door?] ....:D
Thanks, Guys. |
I agree, I think they only made two. They did have a big Fountain logo on the glass door???
