water pressure pick up

Hey guys I have got a 1997 29 fever with twins and one of the water pressure guages is not giveing me a reading but it does not overheat and was just wondering where it gets the pressure from ? The boat has bravo drives and 454 mags . Thanks for your help in advance .

Usually they get plumbed to one of the block drains on the lower part of the engine block. The other place that sometimes gets plumbed is the top of the intake manifold, around the thermostat area.

I think the thermostat is your better choice ,,because u need to know if water press is in the top end as well !!

How do you have different WP between the block vs the intake???

Fountain uses 1 of the lower block drains for the WP gauges.

Glenn,
Typically it is a small rubber line attached to a fitting threaded into the block drain as stated above. Should be disconnected to drain for winterizing, depending on how you winterize. I disconnect at both ends and blow back through to drain and clean. Probably some sediment or rust plugging it off, check at block end fitting.
Hope to see you on the water !
Kelly

Not yet, getting everything back together now, hope to fire it tomorrow. Cayuga will have some new players....... bigger, badder, and faster !!!!

You may want to disconnect at both ends, than blow line out with compressed air. Also may want to remove block fitting & blow that out & check for junk/scale.

Sorry,,,what i mend is if you would have something wrong with the top end u would see it faster if thats where u take the WP !!!
Water feeds from block to topend so the last is where i like to read it !!
Maybe just me,,but it works!
