Cabin Mirrorplex

Has anyone tackled the mirrorplex that runs behind the "counter" in their Fountain? My '98 is showing some marring that drives me insane(r), and it isn't like you can touch the stuff up . . .

prepare to take most of the port interior apart (from the v birth back) to get it out! I have done a 35 and 42 not a picnic!

What he said. The mirror is installed 1st, then everything else bolted up to and/or through it. Not hard to do, just time consuming

Just thinking out loud here, but why couldn't you simply make a template and install a new one right over the existing? Seems like that should be able to be done and look just fine.

Ragged- I thought about that- the cover it up plan -and that may be the solution if I get wild enough to tackle it. Right now, I am replacing the forward hatch (which was destroyed by a friendly friend who decided it would be a good idea to put a knee through it . ..) that cost $380!!!!!!!! from Fountain- WITH NO GRAPHIC. So, I am not too happy about the expense (and they would not send me the hatch without the hardware that I don't FKN need!!!!!!!!!)

Damn, I don't need friends like that. Have you hit him with a big stick yet? Found cement shoes in his size?

I do think the cover up deal would be ok, not hard to do and would look fine as long as you are careful making the template.

I thought about doing exactly this but it just wouldn't have been perfect enough for me. I ordered the mirror from fountain( It is glued to a heavy piece of plywood) and installed it. It is an extreme pain in the ass.

All Of Fountains Parts Are Pre Assembled Ready For The Assembly Line Unfortunately They Wont Make A Blank Would Cost More In The Long Run To Stock Both This Way They Are Ready To Build A Boat When A Order Comes In They Don't Stock A Lot Of Quantity So When You Need A Part They Build "1" To Replace It..

I replaced the one in my 35, takes a few hours to get the plywood peice out and maybe another hour at most to put back together. Got the mirror plex from a local glass shop for $25. Go ahead and take the time to do it right!
