Beak and swim platform my azz.

So after several yrs of listening to all the non Fountain owners give us chit about the 'inflated' lenghts of our boats do to the beak, I bought a Baja cruiser a couple weeks ago that has that thing on front for the anchor. The pros will call it a pulpit. :) I'll be damned if the lenght of the new boat doesn't include that pulpit, and that thing literary sticks out a good 1 1/2- 2 feet. It has a swim platform too, so guess I'll still be in that 'it ain't a real 'X' footer' catagory. :lolhit:

I had a Howard 23 Mini Offshore. I put my new 32 Fountain in the same place at my house, and was surprised that the new boat was a lot more than 9 feet longer. I taped the fountain: 32 feet exactly from the end of the swim platform to the tip of the beak. I taped the Howard and it was 20 feet long! Even from the bow to the end of the tilted outdrive, it still wasn't 23 feet long.

I always wonder why the same level of crap isn't blown towards Hustler owners...you ever look at the stern of one of those? Gotta be 3 feet of "reverse beak" towards the swim platform.

My sea ray is listed as a 38, but it is actually 38.5' and the does not include the bow pulpit.

My Magnum is a 27' and it is 27'.

I guess it must just be THOSE boats.

It appears so, doesn't it? :drink:
Yellow? Put the pipe down.
Yeah, those MTI's have a good 5' overhang on back.
Clarification, the pulpit IS counted in the overall lenght.

Amazing how I went to a boat that is about 4' shorter in real terms lengthif you want to compare apples to apples, and I gained 5x the space.....WITH A CHITTER! :evilb:

So what all of the Fountain haters are saying is that Fountain packed 1400hp into a 30 ft(35 Lightning) and got it to run stable at over 120mph?....says a little something about the superior hull of a Fountain. Doesn't matter how long it actually is cuz it will always out perform anything else within 5 feet and comparable power.

Was thinking about trying to pick up a Center Console with the market on a down turn...did a little research, checked Fountains out, wanted something a little less of a fishing boat. Looked at Donzi ZF nice boat, not any 35's in our area to climb around on, so I called Legend marine in Tex. talked to a dealer rep their. Compared Fountain to Donzi, got all the info. I asked him one last question, why on the Donzi website is the 35 ZF listed as 33 feet L.O.A. in the specifications?? is that a mistake. He said that he never noticed that. Its not just Fountain.
