first outing

I picked up my new to me 2004 27 Fever and took her out for a ride . I have only ran donzi classics for the past 12 years so there is a learning curve . I didn't open it up as I am trying to learn the different drive and tab placements but I did run it up to about 55 . Great experience !

Good deal! Just remember you trim differently than the Donzi when turning. Tight turns at speed that is.

Your boat should have a performance sheet with it, tells you the settings that were set up from Fountain.

On a 27 Fever, it is probably close to these

Trim all in, tabs all down to take off.

Mid range Trim 2 or 3, tabs 3

WOT, Trim 5, tabs 1

Let me know what power you have I have owned two 27 Fevers, great boat, Oh but the fuel gauge sucks, when it starts to bounce around you need to go get fuel, if it gets to empty, your empty,SERIOUSLY.

it took me about 10 hrs to finaly figure out the trim and tabs. it can get hairy at time in rough water but take it easy and you will be a beliver in fountains and what they are capibile of. Enjoy:drink:

Welcome to the club!
I just completed my first season with a Fever 27, having helmed quite a number of other different boats throughout the years.
And I can tell you, this is by far the most reactive to trim and tabs settings.
But being her reactions so obvious, you'll quickly learn how to master them and get the most out of her.
Do you have the stock 496HO with Bravo, or some more exotic rigging?

I have the standard set up . I wish I had captains call , kinda loud which is cool until a long no wake zone:angry-smiley-038:

only loud to the ones behind you.and the patrols. kind of wish i had mufflers.

Mmm... I always thought capt's call WAS standard. Didn't the previous owner change something maybe?

I was able to get out again on sunday . I was full of fuel , 1 passenger , 69 mph . I think my drive was at 4 tabs at 3 . i think i will hit 70 with a little more time .. It felt stable and I was out for about 4 hours running it before i took aboard a passenger .. I feel a lot more comfortable with the controls and I am getting used to trimming and tab placement .

Me Too!

I just bought a 99' 27 Fountain. Only had it out for the test drive, but already impressed with it. This is not my first boat, but the fastest one yet, so it will take a little getting used to. Hopefully I'll have some numbers to post after I get it out this weekend. (Stock 502 Mag)

We put the mufflers from REX marine in our fountain and love them you can just slide them in the exaust hose and ride they are only 119.00 per pair...

Got out again yesterday for a pretty good ride. I agree with smokediver, tabs around 3 and drive at 4 proved the best handling with a light to moderate chop. 3/4 fuel and one passenger....69 on GPS. Rides like a dream up to about 65, but gets a little hairy when you jam the stick and pick up the tabs to pick up the few extra mph.
