Lightning vs Executioner

Does anyone know if the 42 lightning is faster than an Executioner with 525's and if so, why?

fountainracing65 11-17-2009 12:34 PM

because the lightning is more :coolcowboy:expensive!

Per the Fountain site ..........

42 Lightning w/ 525's XR ITS Short Sportmasters = 88 +

42 Executioner w/ 525's XR Short Sportmasters = 86 +

I would think the diff here of 2 mph would be the set back and likely higher X from the ITS. Tit for Tat I would think they would be a dead heat. In years past there was a difference in the hulls used, but I believe now they share the same hull and only the top deck is different. On older models where there would be a different hull design the speed difference would likely be greater.

The Lightning shows a dry weight of 11,400 and the EX shows same at 11,200 so the diff is not really due to weight.

I would think if they where set-up the same the Executioner would be a little faster because of the weight. As for the looks I like the Executioner's better, but that just me.
