GPS for Fountain
 

Hi folks, I’m thinking about getting a GPS for my 2005 29’ Fountain. Anyone have any recommendations on a make/model?

So many options it’s confusing – handheld, mountable, fixed mount, internal or external antenna, apps for iPhone, etc.

Most of my boating is on the California Delta, and I sometimes venture off to the bay and Pacific coast.

If you are going to use it for chart plotting, poker runs, etc., get the biggest display as possible. You may want to consider a brand that allows you to run a passive monitor on the passenger side. My Northstar integrates with to the Smartcraft system. Others may as well.
