03 35 Lightning 575's
Feeling out the market.
Knowing used market is tough right now, anyone interested in a mint 03 with 575's ? If no quick sale, will keep and list in classifieds in spring. |
Holy Cow Kelly! Not wasting any time in getting that farm stimulus money back into circulation are you.
Seriously here, this will make someone a real sweet ride. I've seen this boat up close and personal, as well as in action, super clean boat, and it will rock. I've been thinking Whipples ever since Kelly put a whoopin' on the Biotch last summer. This one is sweet! |
There was a guy listing his 02 35 Lightning with 575's for $175K in the classified ... bet his phone never rang ... even once!

MSRP on our late production 2000 35 twin step Lightning w/500EFI's was $234,790.00 That boat was loaded with almost everything ... shore power, bezels, lightning wheel with "35" on engine hatch, silent choice, depth finder, deck graphics, level III stereo upgrade, XZ drives, factory bimini top with eisenglass/side curtains, factory canvas full mooring cover, labbed props, etc. The only thing it didn't have (I think) was the fans in the cabin. I don't think the 575's would have added 120K to MSRP but I could be wrong. There have been some 2007-2008 leftover 525 staggered 35's advertised in the $175K range lately.

I see you traded? What did you get?
It is a staggered 35 with #6's. Guess the 'cat is out of the bag' now. Anyone looking for a super deal should go get my trade from Shogren. Boat is super clean and was always maintained with the intention of owning it a few more years. It is priced according to the current market and is A LOT of bang for the buck. Sweet Addiction, consider towing yours up there and making a deal !!! |

The cat's been peeking out a corner for a while! Congrats again! It's going to be an ego altering deal for someone. ;);) |

One boat left and another one came home.

I know you really liked the idea of the 700's in it when that boat was 1st talked about coming down the factory line. Did you make the deal with the 600's in it or the 7's?
|
With 700's the boat easily ran into the 120's where it was deemed very unsafe, so it was de-tuned to stay below 120. Legal liability and safety were huge concerns of the dealer and Fountain so as soon as it was traded the factory put 600's in it.
I will set it up to maximize the 600's potential, while keeping the boat safe. |

You now own the planets most awesome 35 Fountain, there is nothing out there that's even close. Nice move Kelly! Just be sure you come thru on the rocket ride. I would die for the chance to see the Fastec Frown up close!!! :drink: BTW Looks like I will be down in Syracuse helping the HBW cause at the boat show maybe we can get together and get that up close look at the Mitcher T masterpiece while I'm down there. |

35' Lightning
Wow Kelly, that power in your new boat is awsome! I checked out your old boat on Shogens web site and am thinking about calling them on a trade with my 47' with triple 525's. Just bought a canal property in Florida and the lift will only accommodate up to a 35'. Besides, the 47' is a bit to much to trailer from our house on the water in Maryland. Where did you run your old boat and what are the hours on boat and motors? Did it have air? Any known problems? Thanks and good luck with the new ride!

Very impressive! What do you expect to get out of the boat with some degree of safety? I think I saw this boat on the Boat Trader a while back for a short time. Then.....Poof it was gone! :evilb::evilb::evilb:
Some work to do before I can answer that question. |
Great looking new ride! what speeds with the 575 boat?

Buyer had a nice angle knowing original owner who also vouched for my character. Told him no reason not to buy sight unseen. I think he got a great deal in this buyer's market. Kelly |

Thanks Dave. Maybe I'll take you for a ride and we can wave to Ragged on the way past.
You guys sure are entertaining ! All I wanted was some stronger drives. I don't have a dog in this fight Ragged, so quit jerking Axa's chain ! |
