There were 2 new 2007's at Carolina Performance Marine when I was there a couple of years ago, both with 600'sci's. Not sure if they had ITS and SSM lowers, but the performance reports were 82 mph and 83 mph. I thought they would have been higher than that, but they weren't. The 29s' with 525 EFI's ranged from 76 mph to 80 mph based on the stack of performance reports that I have. My current late 2006 29 with a 525 has a test report speed of 80 mph, spinning a 28P Bravo 1 and an X dimension of 19". During the last year or two of the 29's they actually lowered the X from 19.5" to 19", again based on a stack of their performance reports that I have. If I remember right, one of the 600 boats had a 28P bravo 1 and the other had a 30P bravo 1 on it, which didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. My 2002 29 Fever with a 575 SCI showed 83 mph on its performance report, spinning a 30P Bravo 1 and an X dim of 19.5". I tried a couple different Hydro Q-IV props on the 575 boat but never could get it on plane no matter where I set the tabs, or how slowly I tried to accelerate - as soon as the nose would start to break over, the prop would just blow out and the boat would just squat back down into the water. I think that may have been a symptom of too high of an X dimension.

Did Fountain give you an estimate of how fast your new boat should run? I'm sure they built a couple with that combination before.

I heard they were building that boat. Should be bad ass and lots of fun!

Thanks for the info. Fountain says 90 can't wait, will all depend on props they try am sure. 85 is fast for that ride, still wondering how that ITS/SSM will work on that size boat. It will be the only one in vancouver canada.

You'll need to be sure you always remember to stow the ladder on that one (or any of them, for that matter) before moving! I would think that with ITS, the ladder will interfere with the prop a little more than it does with just a standard XR outdrive. It would have been nice if they could have moved the ladder off to the side for the 27 and 29 singles, instead of centered (right over the prop). I would think with the ITS, that boat should plane almost instantly without any, or very little, bow rise with the extra leverage you will get with the ITS setback. Our 575 boat had very little bow rise getting on plane, which was really nice!
I think your package would be about as close to perfect as you can get for a single engine "trailerable", go anywhere, go-fast with a huge smile factor! :D Can't wait to see the pics when you get it !!

Will post pic's 4 sure. The ladder thing is a joke, going to ask tony about that, maybe it can be shorten a bit. Have a bud with a 29 that left it down and rev into it, needed a hack saw to get it off and 250 to fix the prop.

Hey Bob did your 29 with the 575 have ITS or SSM.

Ever come down to the Okanagan? I am in Peachland, couple of Fountains running up and down the lake.Who did you get her thru? Have a 2002 27'. Look forward to seeing her, maybe out at Harrison Lake Poker Run this year. Pete

It would be tacky to ask what you are paying, however would you mind sharing the MSRP?? I would like to get an idea of how much more the 600sci is over a 525efi??

:bigbird:

Tony is great to work with. I have bought a couple of boats from him. He will take good care of you!

A buddy had a 525/ITS 29 and ended up putting a 1in spacer in the drive. The boat ran 80 before but was a pain getting on plane. After the spacer the boat was a pleasure to drive but never saw 80 again....not sure of his X, the boat was a 2004-5
