After much thought and deliberation (and agreement from the boss), I am selling the 27 (deal in the works) and getting a used twin step 35 lightning. Seems like the typical progression of this addiction. A 35 is the biggest I can fit inside my shop. Already talking with Scott at Shogrens. Any suggestions on good boats that are also good deals would be appreciated. Peace.

from one newbie to another CONGRATS!!

My brother rode in the 27 and really wanted it, so to keep peace in the family, I'm letting him have it and naturally have to get a replacement. Took a lot longer explaining it to the boss, but sound logic prevailed in the end.

Welcome and congrats. There are alot of us in the Northwest that boat all over Washington, Oregon, BC, etc. I started with a 21' boat. My Fountain is my second 35' boat. Consider heading up to the Puget Sound area some time. There is some awesome boating here.

Welcome to the crew!! Having owned mine for a year now, I have never had so much fun on the water. It is addictive though! I have gotten the 2-foot-itis and am looking to upgrade to a 35 or 38 myself. Enjoy and get those pics up!!

Now thats funny, skip the minor mods and jump up 7ft and tripple the hp. NICE VERY NICE!

Gents,
After a short delay due to work (damn it), I was able to get an 01 35 lightning with the 500 efi's, 216 hours. The interior is flawless and the only exterior flaws are in the rub rail insert, which looks to me like are replaceable with moderate effort. Haven't had the opportunity to take her on sea trials yet, but that should come in a week or so. I will attempt to post a picture or two soon. Dramatic difference in size when place side by side with the 27. The test report from fountain says 87 mph at 5300 rpm with 80 gallons of fuel. I think I will ease up to that number after gaining a little experience with a twin step. Anyway - thanks for the well wishes and I will followup. |
