Fountain Weights
Has anyone ever weighed their fountain? It seems hard to believe a new 35 lightening is 9,500lbs, a 42 11,400lbs, when boats like a 37 AT is 9,800lbs, and a 427 Nor-tech (42’7”) is 10,500lbs.
At least that’s what the web sites say, who’s stretching the truth here? |

My 1996 32' SFC weighs 9500 # with half full tanks (120gal) and some junk in the cabin. That also includes the fixed top and higher gunnals towards the dash area.

How are Fountains laid up that makes them so much heaver then boats the same size?

It would be interesting to see the weights of two identically built boats from any manufacturer. Imagine there could be a significant difference if the hull is a conventional layup.

Mine was 15,850lbs on a Myco aluminum trailer with two spares, tool box, drive guard, full tanks of fuel, coolers, supplies, etc.
