Drive Showers

I have a 38' Lightning with Bravo's.... first boat I've owned that didn't come with drive showers. I know their cheap insurance. Any recommendation on which I should purchase?

If she has the latest style Latham steering, the stainless steel plate on top of the drive already has a screwed hole where you can fit a hose (available from Latham or Livorsi, maybe also others) whose other end with the pickup goes on the cavitation plate.
Btw, I don't think the one suggested by Back4More is compatible with Latham steering, that your 38 has I suppose?

Save your money. We installed them on race boat and it cost us 3 MPH. If you are not running the boat real hard for hour upon hour save your money. I have a 95 29 with twins and have never had a problem in 400 plus hours.

Yea - I agree with Roger. 550 hours on the 29 Outlaw and now 357 on the 35 EX and never a problem without them. I am sure that if you are running real hard and long they have there place. Besides - my through transom exhaust is throwing water all over them any way

3mph! Holy crap.

I installed a Gaffrig one on my 24 this winter should be interesting to see what happens as far as any loss of speed... might be coming back off!

Anything that picks up water is going to slow the boat down. I took my speedometer pickup off of my 2000 Checkmate and it picked up 1 MPH.
