Bolster Seat Poblem

My 1st mate's seat in my '94 Fever dropped a hinge bolt and I can't get it back in the pivot hole. (and I'm not putting any hair around it!) LOL Anyway, does anyone know what I've got to do to get the bolt back in the hinge? The threads are kinda buggered up too...may or maynot be able to clean up the threads. If not...where's a source for the bolt and bushing? All advice is appreciated.

Should just be a shoulder bolt that you can buy from a hardware store. Chances are the threads were screwed up as the bolt backed out and will need to be cleaned up 1st, otherwise you'll justy mess up the threads on the bolt trying to get it to start. Also guessing the hardware store would have the bushings, just a standard bronze/brass bushing.

Thanks US1...I found a shoulder bolt, but finding a sleeve bearing that will sandwich between the bolt and the spacers is proving to be a lot harder to find. When I do get all my parts do you know if there is a trick to getting it back together without taking the seat back off?
I appreciate your help.

Try McMasterCarr. They should have it.
The bolt is kinda hard to get to with the seat back on. I rebuilt my frames for more beef and also improved that hinge design 100x stronger now. That small 10-24 thread doesn't offer much strength for what it is expected to hold. If I recall right, the back was in the way of installing the shoulderbolt w/o tearing the material, so I just asseambled my bottom frames before the outter covering went back on. Might also be able to just remove the seat cushion from the bottom frame. Just 4 screws underneath hold it on I think.

That's what I've always done and they're still fiddly. McMaster is the place to get the parts although if I remember I had to chuck and part off the ends of the bushings since I couldn't find short ones. You'll find them here.
