Placard Location?

Looking for the placard that tells you what the weight/people rating of the boat is. I must be a dumb ass, I can't find the damn thing.

Boats over 25 or 26' do not require it, so it probably is not there. I have owned two 27 Fevers and don't remember ever seeing it.

Oh, I did not know this. Thanks for the info.

So how much weight and/or people does my 27 hold?

US1 Fountain 05-18-2010 10:35 PM

There are no ratings for that I believe. Just gotta have enough life jackets for all on board.

It's referred to as OR or Owners Responsibility. Basically just use common sense. If you have 14 people in the cockpit, it may be hard to explain to the CO.

That'd be a hard issue to enforce if there are no laws on limits. Don't know for sure, just what I recall being told yrs ago.

But I agree responsibilty has gotta come into play.

Mine does not have one, but I don't see how that could even be an issue. Mine is crowded with 5 people, 6 would flat out suck. I couldn't imagine any more people than that in a 27....of course no one rides in the cabin, too f'n hot and rough where I live.

-That's why we have an old 24' Party Barge (aka The Poontoon)

i had 8 in destin...made things a little tight...still had a great time:)

Scooter B 05-19-2010 02:52 PM

that is funny stuff, I bet we could fit 30 of those on the Poon-toon!

RaggedEdge 05-19-2010 05:36 PM

I think this is one of those things in life that could well remain a mystery for most.

If one absolutely had to have the answer, one could load the boat till it went down. Thereafter considering the max to one or two less than that number! :party-smiley-004:

Should be done with "real" people, skinny crack whores would skew the results.

ryan450r 05-20-2010 08:41 PM

Well, I guess 6 is the definate max... And that's assuming they don't ever sleep like someone said before. :drink: I like skinny chicks anyways!

My Scarab 21' had a person rating of 8 people... and that was about 6"-8" less cabin space that the 27 Fever. So, I'm sure if there WAS a rating it would probably be far higher than what is possible to actuallly carry responsibly.

I put 12 on a 27 Fever one day, mostly girls but DAMN, I had to put the 3 guys up in the cabin and a couple of the girls in the cabin to plane off. I was so worried the drive was going to break planing off. If it is mostly skinny girls 8 would be my limit now. To make you laugh we put 34 on a 36 St Tropez cruiser once, chit I was worried it was going to topple over.:evilb:

USCG regulations state that boats over 20' do not require a placard. Some builders put them on some don't. There is a formula: (length x beam / 15) It is way more that what you could ever safely carry on a performance boat. As long as you have enough life jackets for everyone on board load her up and have fun.
