cat's
has anyone consider switching to a cat
|
Have owned both. Eliminators, Skater. Different boats than a V. Just depends on what you want to do. Most no cabin, but they have a very stable ride because they are so wide. Very fast for the horsepower compared to a V. Getting insurance......good luck, unless you have previous cat experience. I would suggest driving or riding in one. They are not everones, cup of tea....but then again neither are Fountains. They both have a place on the water. Its just a matter of choice.

MTI hands down, the best money can buy!

If I was to do a cat it would be a Skater, hands down! Watched them for years and they are, for sure, the Cat's Azz!!!

Pete builds great boats as well! You can't go wrong with either!

The main reason I won't get one is because of the romance under deck space. I would love to go fast and float over the chop, but I'm sure the wife would rather have the Fountain. A happy wife makes a happy life. She lets me have a lot of other scary fast chit :)

we went from a 35 Fountain to a 31 Awesome Cat, I love the speed & stability of the cat, but miss the cockpit/cabin room of a V, I can outrun 99% of the V's in my area, that's the fun part, we still overnight a couple times a summer on our cat, its tight but do-able, the downside is going slow in a cat can be a wet ride my .02
