Does anyone else drives trim "in" together?

Does anyone else have the same problem I'm having? I have a 2000 38' Lightning... so I have a switch for each drive trim, then the dual pole switch for the trim together, and then the switch on the throttle that trims both together. When trimming in, it doesn't matter if I used the right, left, or both switch, both drives trim up regardless simultaneously. Now I can trim back out independently, or use the both switch out, and that all functions as it should. Does anyone know if:

A) that's how its supposed to be? It was annoying at first, and the only reason it bothers me is that my drives aren't quite the same speed.

B) do I have a DPDT switch failing? Anyone intimate enough with Fountains wiring to know how they achieved switch isolation and where my problem may be?

They use isolation diodes, sounds like one may be shorted.

yes, i have a 2000 38 lightning and the starboard drive switch will trim both out together, not in. where are the isolation diodes located and how hard are they to change?
