My arrestors are of a decent diameter so I was thinking of cutting the arrestor fins out till I am left with just the top and bottom halves then buy the approriate diameter K&N filters. That way I could still use the stock breather hook ups and all that. The arrestors are aluminum & have this gold anodizing that you can practiccally rub off with your thumb so I was going to polish them up until chrome........whaddya think?.......Doug

Doug,
Combine a stub stack in there and you might be getting the same quality at half the cost. I hope mine come today. |
I will but be patient, the boat is still in storage...........

Pep Boys actually did special order it. I showed them the part number in their own catalog and had to pay up front. Took a week or so to get it. I haven't had much luck with them since however.
I just checked the web site and it there are lots of choices. If you need to add a vent for the fuel pump tube, a presta valve stem from a bicycle may work as it is a threaded tube and a bike shop has them lying around from flat tires. Break off the inner valve don't forget loc-tight. |
IF YOU TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT A LOT OF THE HIGH ROLLERS THEY DONT RUN ANY FILTER THEY TAKE A FEW RAPS OFF OF THERE STOCK ARRESTER . THERE IS NO DIRT ON THIS WATER SURFACE LIKE THERE IS ON A DIRT ROAD. WE DYNOED A MOTOR A YEAR AGO AND IT PUT OUT MORE HP WTIH A STOCK ARRESTER THAN IT DID WITH A K&N. THEY ARE A GREAT FILTER FOR OFF ROAD BUT FOR BOATING ONLY TEST CAN TELL.
