When I got my 94' 27fever it had a 23p RH Mirage Plus prop. The boat listed to starboard under power so I had to drag my starboard tab about 1 number to compensate for the starboard list. I changed my prop to a 22p LH Hydro Q4...that eliminated the starboard list
Are you sure there isn't a typo somewhere? |

Weird, if a boat with a single RH prop lists to stbd, it should only get worse with a LH prop...

Are you sure there isn't a typo somewhere? Money455 & mcprodesign...have either of you noticed a starboard list using RH props? Just wondering if I'm the only one who has experienced this. |
yes i do have the strbd list with my boat it is more minor than major but its there for sure . not to be long winded but i have tried a few diffrent 3 blade props and currently have a b1 24 pitch that was labbed down to a 23 and i guess its just too much pitch / prop cause i lost alot of rpm i am at 4400 rpm fully trimmed to #4 on the indicator and lost speed . i do have nice livorsi gauges and with a mirage plus 23 pitch i was right at 5k or a little over but could only get 60 mph ? there is no hiding it i have a slow boat lol ! but i love it . does anybody know of a really aggresive 3 blade prop for finding something over 60 mph !

also i am ready to sell my bravo 1 rt hand prop which is a 24 pitch labbed to 23 , i also have a mirage and mirage plus both 23 pitch un-labbed i gotta check to see what they are worth but i just want a fair price for them if anyone is interested .

mapism...do you have an older fever without a stepped hull?
But the principle is pretty much valid for any V hull with a single screw: all other things being equal, a RH prop introduces a list to port, and a LH prop does the opposite. It's also intuitive, if you think about it: the lower half of the prop is the one which "grabs" more water, and with a RH prop the lower half of the prop "pushes" the boat to rotate counterclockwise (looking at the boat from astern) around its longitudinal axis. This applies also to boats with the outdrive installed deep in the water, but the effect is even more relevant when the outdrive is rather high, as it normally is on a 27 Fever. On mine for instance the X dim is 19", which means that the prop shaft is only 2" 13/16 under the hull bottom, because on Bravos the distance between the engine shaft and the prop shaft is 21" 13/16. |
