Any 29's with big power?
Does anybody have or know of 29's with whipples or blowers? What speeds can the single step take and perform well at? I heard they don't do well about like 85, can anybody validate that at all?

If you do a search on here, there were 2 29's with big power at one time. One was Crowd Pleaser, from Va. and the other was a boat from Fla. I think. Thomas with the boat from Va, was running around 108 mph if I recall correctly and the boat from Fla was running about the same speed.

"Roger", on this forum, is running a 29 Fountain with 1050 hp (a pair of 575 hp NA engines). The acceleration on that boat is incredible. He and Dave Knight also used to run a Fountain race boat (P2 class, I think). Roger has lots of experience with the Fountains. He should be able to answer your questions.

There was an older 29 in Texas a while back that had 850's in it. I am not sure where it went after it was sold. It was a ride for sure.

I had a '98 with a single HP500. Sold it to a guy in CA. He said he built it to 850 HP and saw 92. He said it was scary. He also went through drives like crazy!

I had a 1998 small step with a 565" 750 hp and would run 89 mph was fine on the river but did not like Lake Erie.

Why didn't it do good in Lake Erie, the power or size?

It get wild above 85mph in this hull.
