What are you doing with old power? Werent they griffin 700's or something like that

I sold the blowers, carbs , and everything else, eddie is just using the bare blocks thats the only thing pretty much reusable , he believes or should I say knows somebody has been in there and molested them severely. they were not what they were advertised as, meaning the internals, griffin would not have done what they did, even the machine work, sad but true. all marine engines have just been freshend up right ? yea . thats why I go to the man that knows !!!! what he is doing and doing what he ! suggests

Im guessing that you do not want to rig the intercooler as Mercury does, off the seawater pump? That is how my 700SCI's are. I have heard that their is no need for water through the intercooler at an idle and may cause fuel mixture problems. But the 700's idle like N/A motors.
Had a pair of 540's AFR Aluminum heads, Crane 741 cams, in a 2000 35 Lightning Bravo drive boat. Had the intercooler plumbed the same way off the seawater pump, and they ran great. No water pressure problems, idle was fine.
Unless you run water pressure gauges on the intercooler, how will you know if the pickup, or intercooler gets plugged? Around where we boat, alot of grass in the water, you would have to run filters, or strainers on the intercooler intake to keep from cloggin up the intercooler or intake. Just some food for thought.
Eddie is a great guy, pick his brain. He has rigged many fast V's, I am sure he would give you some suggestions. If you still want pictures of the pickups the way Fountain set them up let me know, I will crawl under the boat and snap a few. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Here is ONE of the pickups on my 09 35, the other is molded into the hull center about 7 ft. forward.
They both feed into one large sea strainer that supplies both motors. This is how Fountain rigged the boat.

I would think that for intercoolers only this one in the rear of boat would supply both coolers fine. As long as the line lengths feeding each cooler were the same (from beyond where you tee them) they would both see the same amount of water pressure.

Anybody have a whipple intercooler intake lying around?

thanks for the help you guys, im just wondering how feeding off of the strainer would work if the strainer is on the suction side ,it would want to pull air instead of water ? I will ask eddie what he thinks when I talk to him again. thanks again.
