ok all you fountain guys and grils.school me.why did fountain use the 10meter and 12meter name.why not 33ft or 40ft?

Lots of builders back in the day used "meter" for their measurement. Carrerra, fountain, etc. Why, i dont exactly know.

Those were classes in offshore racing back in the day 8 meter/10meter/12meter..

Yep it is...trying to find a project boat for my son can you rember the guys name.

the guys name is chris sharpe.he works for dupont in richmond.wes bryant could probley put you on to him.thats how we met.i just bought a project too.a 10meter fountain.been wanting a bigger boat and the price was right.i will keep my eyes opean for a good project boat.

no problem dude.i will saythe last i heard the guy had blown the motor on the 22.it was a 330black motor w/385hrs when i turned it lose.the bottom end was stock and the upper end was redone,valves,springs,retainers.give me a shout if i can help.

Hey sorry to keep on about your old Pachanga but what motor did you have in it with the blower and how fast did you get it to go.

when i bought the boat,it had a 330h/p.i built a 30 over 454 and built it for super-charger use.it was a low buck deal on the motor,hyd cam,merlin c/i heads with good inconel valves and a tbs250 blower witha 1050 carb.best mph was about 77.4pounds boost.i kept the boost low cause of a two-bolt mains w/a cast crank.i still have the motor and the blower set upif you are interested.

I have a big ci motor with Dart heads I want to put in it. I thought the boat had gone alot faster then that. I would like to talk to you on the phone some time if you don't mind.

i would have thought it would have ran faster also.the bottom of the hull has a hook in it.i was told that searay did this when they put big blocks in the 22s to deal with porpose issuses.i think this slowedthe boat some.i picked up 12mph over the 330 i had in it.i think i had maybe alittle over 4500 in themotor w/blower.like i said,low budgett.give me a call sometime mike.586-0906.be glade to help anyway i can.a smaller boat will come in handy when $$ or time is tight or low water.this is why i still have a pwc and my 27.best of luck,brad
