Who is know that origine ratio on that boat,, if the boat have 454 stock before? it's different or optionnal?

But if is a 1.36,, your slip exemple is in a salt water or fresh water because i know is faster in salt?

Check the left side of the drive sticker. Should be there.

About the slip. The slip has not much to do with salt or fresh. The reason why you will see a speed increase in salt, is because of the bouyancy (did I spell that right?!).

I would have suggested that you contacted Roger on the board, but he's here already. He should know a thing or two about reaching 90 mph in a 29.

Roger

Was that 87.8 with twin 415's??! Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting your numbers. You seem to know the 29 quite well, so maybe you have some insight on this. Do you have any idea why there are such a big difference between the 29's? I've never seen a 29 with 502's run like yours or even GRH's 454. It has been more along the lines of what tbrown runs(76-78). Have you guys spent alot of time dialing in?

My boat was 502-500 HP's with 1:50 gears . I had the boat bottom later blueprinted and had the Hydromotives blueprinted. I just read my performance report and it states 43 at 3000, 68 at 4000, 88.2 at 5250. 55 degrees, wind calm, water calm, January 11 1995. 30 pitch props. I still run the 30's but now the engines are 509's and turn 5600 with upgraded ECM's. And by the way Joey Griffin built the engines 5 years ago. No issues

So an older 29' hull with same power as a newer hull 32' is over 10mph faster?

Roger 02-22-2011 04:18 PM

AO Razor, most of the 29's back then were 454's or the 502-415's. When I spoke to Reggie about buying a 29 he stated to me "your are looking for the smallest boat with the biggest power I can give you right?" I said YES I AM. He even had the guys move the seat back two inches for me because of my size, it was hard to get between the sticks and the seat. I know of a couple of others that were ordered with the 500 HP's that also ran in the 87-88 range. One was in the Virginia Beach area several years ago. We rafted together during a Offshore race in Virginia in the late 90's. OOPS I am now showing my age. :party-smiley-004:

Ok. So do you think I'm right if I say that, a 29 with 502/415 with the blueprinted bottom and props like yours, is around 82-83, and the same boat with stock bottom and props is more of a 76-78 mph deal, and that blueprinting either the prop or bottom would get you around 80? Age???:Whatever: Who counts?:D

He said BEFORE with stock HP 500's he was running 87.8.

I have seen 83 with my HP 500's in the 32 (5000 rpm), but if I worked on the props I think I could get 84, maybe 85.

28" hydro's, 1.5 ratio bravo 1, 3 guys (a one is kind of Tubby:drink:), 3/4 fuel, smooth water.

The reason I think more prop work is needed is if you remember we had 6 of us in the boat on dead flat water and hot, ran 82 then.
I should have left the props alone.

So,, if i understand correctly the fact of the slip ,, i think i have 1:36 ratio gear ,, (i check this soon),, with exaust gil on my 502 MPI,, 4 blades pitch 25 ,,running 85 in salt water (salt faster 3-4 mph) ,, its possible?

My 32 has a factory hook where my tabs are, does everyone else's?? Obviously most of you have the stepped bottoms & mine is straight....

Wildman_grafix 02-22-2011 09:18 PM

No hook on mine.
