Cabin power question

Wondering how your cabin power is setup. Someone monkeyed with mine over the years, and trying to get it all straightened out. They had the stereo headunit wired so that it could be on, even when battery switches were "off". So i redid that. Now, in order for the stereo to go on, the cabin power must be turned on. The radio memory wire is wired to battery's to keep its memory though.

As for the lights, from what i can tell, the cabin power switch controls the power to the spotlight style lights in the cabin. The overhead flourescents and mood lighting seems to be controlled by the two switches near the cabin door, and the cabin power switch does not have to be on to control these???Is that the way the factory did it?

My "cabin power" starboard side of the helm has to be turned on before anything in the cabin is energized.

Hmm. Weird. My overhead and mood lights power wires come from a fuse panel under the helm, to switches right inside cabin door. The Blue wire coming from the cabin power switch, goes directly into the cabin.

Ok, cool. I will rigg it that way.

Do your mood lights and flourescents run from a fuse panel under the dash also?

im about to do a stero now. It has a head unit in it and im assuming thats its connected to the cabin power. I was thinking of go to the battery direct with the power amp cord and leaving the radio as it is??

No, all cabin power comes from a breaker under the rear bench seat, then thur the helm master cabin switch.
