35 fountain with extension boxes and shorties
I'm looking for some input on a 35 lightning with 7" extension boxes and 2" shorties. I'm looking to purchase, but have yet to take a test drive and I am curious as to what effects these mods will have on the boat. I am worried about difficulties getting up on plane or any other performance issues I may encounter. Some personal experience feedback will determine if I even want to go take it for a test ride. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What year boat?
Single or dual step? |
I'm sorry, twin step ( 02 ) with side by side motors

I have an 01 twin step with 2 inch shorties. It does not have boxes. I can get it on plane with about any 5 blade prop and I usually use a realtive small 15" diameter prop. It is not a rocket ship to plane but the mph gained makes it well worth it to me.
I would think with boxes it would even be better about getting on plane but have never tried it. Have always heard when you go back you must go up. Allen |
thanks for your input, though I wish I would have gotten a few more responses. I will definately take a better look at this boat.
