Fastest 32 Fever

What is the fastest single step 32' fever on record and at what speed does this hull come completely unglued?

Someone must have stretched the limits of this model, lets hear who it was and what was learned/accomplished

just for interest sake before we look past this hull

cheers

the other 32 thread indicated that at least four 32's had been over 100mph with no handling problems. I boat on a lake and I love my 32 for the ride and handling.

RaggedEdge 06-10-2011 10:01 PM

Have three friends up here that all were right around the 100 mph mark with 32's years back. All ran out pretty well, straight and true.

Any 32 footer around 100 is likely going to be a driver. Best to have your chit together if you're going there.

I have a friend with a 32' 502's he thinks his boat is fast until i come around him in my 29' single, It is a nice boat though.

I just recently purchesed a 98 32 that pulled 112. A one of kind fever, no other Fountain built to this standard

Yea but your motor isn't stock.

29's do seem pretty popular boats. lot of them out there.

JBIRD32 06-13-2011 08:03 PM

What kind of power did it take to get to 112?

Funny to think of the speeds we used to run in our small 16-18 foot jet and v-drives!

My personal 1998 32 went 118 on radar when I got it done. It is still owned by the person I sold it to in 1999 when I built the 38. great boat! Troy Dennis did the motors and it was a blast to drive!

BLUEMAGIC 06-15-2011 05:35 AM

At the time of purchase the boat had big Ford power. I beleive the previous owner had 605 cubic inch powerplants. 2112 sold me the 32. Mike knows his Fords and put a lot of sweat and tears into it. With all the customizing and pride Mike put into it (only having 7 HOURS ON THE HULL!!) its a one of kind fever, a GORCIOUS FOUNTAIN :coolcowboy:

Do you have any pictures of the boat with the Ford power in it you could post? Curious what blocks he used (460, FE?). Thanks

Most big cube fords are based on the 460 design, I don't know of any large cube FE based.

What is in the boat now?

My friend in Carolina has a 99 that he just merc 600's in.....2 people ,1/2 fuel, eighty degrees, 110 mph

GOING back to chevy tall decks 588s n/a trying to get new garage done and motors hard to do with this economy we are close though will post some pics soon you have to be a true fountain guy to catch the mods done to this boat it is a true one of a kind. this boat is better than new cant wait to get her in the water!

KOOL reading.......... giving me lots of ideas/hope L! Need to call Brian Forehand at Fountain yet, will respond/reply with their recipe for 100+mph for the members here. Heard 1400 HP was needed to break 100+ with the single step'd hull, I think that's a boat salesman trying to sell me a different boat L! TIME WILL TELL

At sea level, I think this is accurate.

Keith, I sent you a P/M My Gladiator is doing 112-114. I never got that fast in the 32'. I am not saying it can't be done though.

The boat is on rails in the low to mid 90's. At triple digits it takes every ounce of your concentration. Be careful guys. :drink:

NW_Jim 06-16-2011 12:03 AM

Had a friend up here running "Blown Budget" 1990 35' Fountain no-step running right at a hun with twin Teague 750 hp. Mine wont quite do that with the stock 425hp's :drink:

cyberuss 06-17-2011 02:58 PM

my 2003 is just over 106 with custom 572's making near 800 hp each.....tough on drives though!!

2112 06-18-2011 01:18 AM

If you are running a single step boat, I strongly suggest you take Tres Martin's course to learn the unique characteristics this design does in turns and crossing dirty prop wash water.

JBIRD32 06-20-2011 08:40 PM

How different is the bottom on the 2003 versus the 1996?

Newer models' step is a foot closer to the stern and an inch taller, I believe. That's the difference in setting up bunks for a trailer for one.
