Checking your fuel tank for water
My boat has been sitting for a long time and I was wondering if there was an easy way to check for water in your tank. It's a 2006 29 fever. Any ideas?

Not sure what it's called, but they make a paste/putty that you can put on a stick/wire and drop down in your tank. It will turn a different color if water is present. I know you can get it from a farm co-op, other than that I'd check online.

If it's been sitting a really long time (like more than a year), the gas is probably no good and should be replaced.
I just evacuated my tank, 25 gallons. The boat had been sitting a few years. |
Well its only been sitting for 9 weeks but when I filled it I put regular 89 octane and I forgot to add any additives.

The question is how long is a long time and how much fuel is in there?

I wouldnt think twice.....GO RUN THE HELL OUT OF IT |
hell yeah , run it .
you can however pull the center panel from under the couch & pull the cover to look in there if you ever needed to ... |
