Thank you. It is a lot of work. Even though it doesn't look like much on the surface, there is a TON of work that has been done to get to this point. As of now, there is well over 100 hours per engine into them. There is still another 125-150 hours per engine to go into them before they are done. We average about 250 hours per engine for an engine of this caliber. One of my 1200/1400's average about 350-400 hours each.

Time for a few more pics. The long blocks are done and ready for paint. I wanted to get them painted, but we worked all weekend just to get where we are. We will paint tomorrow. I'll update with more pics as we progress.
Enjoy.

Here are some shots of the oil pans.

I'd really like to see some shots of the inside of those pans.

Sorry Yankee, that's not something I'm willing to share. There is a TON of work on the inside of those pans. I will say that there are quite a few bulkheads with one way trap doors. However, the most important parts are the windage tray and scraper. There was a lot of attention paid to control the oil after it comes off the crank, as well as what is in the sump. It can be hard to control 14-15 qts of oil sloshing around in when the boat is in and out of the water. I've seen so many pans leak at the timing cover seal and the rear seal from oil sloshing in the pan.

I understand the baffles and trap doors. Why so much oil in a wet sump motor?
