97 35 Fountain Windshield
 

Anyone had any luck replacing their windshield through Fountain? If not - do you guys know of anyone making them?
Have any of you guys gone from the windshield with the "lip" to one without? If so, did you notice a difference in where the wind hits you?

Mine does not have a lip its like not having a windshield at all . Keep the lip i am thinking about adding one.

I had one custom made last year without the lip and 1in shorter. The wind in the face wasn't bad at all. If i was to do it again I still would have it cut down a inch but put a 1in tall lip at the top just for strength, as it scares me some times when jumping waves. It looks like it's going to brake from it flexing.

I thought I would pass along an update -

I contacted the folks at Fountain. Nice people (hard to get in touch with) very knowledgable right up until I was ready to order it. Then the shocker - and price wasn't it. They told me they don't have any of the material to make the windshield. I was in shock to say the least - are they not building boats? They said it will be weeks before they can get it made. I hope I don't have to wait because LOTO is in less than 2 weeks. I may be screwed.

I spoke with Carmen at Aero-Marine, also sent her pictures of what I have and need. I understand she is probably very busy - but no response.

Found some folks in Tulsa that can make the Windshield, VERY pricey so I am looking into what Oklahoma City Glass can do as well.

Call RF Powerboats and see what they have to say.

you've got that right.... after about 10 emails and as many voice messages we gave up completely.

Tony in customer service on the other hand has been Excellent!!

You might try regal plastics out towards Yukon. Take it in there and show them what you want to do

Thanks - I found a shop in Downtown OKC that will build it and install (for less money then Fountain wanted) it in time for the shootout. Eaton Quade Plastics and Sign. The guys at OKC Glass recommended them. I will post some pics when headed to LOTO with it next Wednesday.
What year 35-38 are you looking for?

Got it done in time for the shootout and it looks great. Man what a difference. I would highly recommend them - see you guys at LOTO!

looks good is it made in one piece or does the lip bolt on.

The lip is part of the windshield.

Looks great, would you mind giving us a ball park on cost?

Took me a solid year to get mine from fountain... Then it came with a chip in the top edge..... You think thats bad try and order a hatch cover lol

We made this one, not too hard if you have the right equipment.
