I know you know your stuff and not knocking you. But how can a boat that normally runs 76-77 mph with 502MPI's and 496HO's run a 100+ with 600's? I would guess 90-92 as an everyday number. I find the 100+ very very hard to belive.

+1

STRAIGHTPRIORITY 08-13-2011 09:14 AM

ive been in one with close to 700's that ran 103... lightened up a bit.
I saw the one with merc 600's up here not to long ago and as a 32 lover it was an amazing boat.

Reggie Fountain 08-13-2011 10:00 AM

There's a friend here locally that has a 32 with 600s that runs 100 plus. The boat runs 78-80 with 502 mpis. Just to 600s that's 400 more HP. That's is worth about 20 mph. That jumps you to 98-100. And he also runs imco -3 in lowers & hering props which takes it to 100 plus.

32 vette 08-13-2011 11:21 AM

my 32 with 502 carbs runs 75 mph, my friends 32 step with 500efi runs 88-90 all day long, Im sure 600 would be really close to 100

Huh? I have the same setup stock lowers 28 hydro's 83 maybe 85 gps.

What props is he running?

CAB 08-13-2011 08:17 PM

Would a 97 model be that fast. I figured a newer one would be.

Reggie Fountain 08-13-2011 08:25 PM

It would be alittle slower but not a lot.

CAB 08-14-2011 05:33 PM

Ok. I was misinformed. It is a 80s 10 meter with 680 hp twins. What will it run?

Reggie Fountain 08-14-2011 06:14 PM

What kind of drives & props?

That boat should run in the high 70's low 80.. The non stepped hulls are a little be slower then the stepped boats, I also think the non stepped has a lower X then the stepped boats.. This is all giving the drive, props are correct and dialed in..

Bravo 1 drives with hydromotive props. 26 pitch and on rev limiter so I am sure he could go up a little.

80 Plus Maybe Touch 90 With A Perfect Setup.

CAB 08-15-2011 05:47 AM

Thanks

"CAB".... Or is this Craig Bush, Seems you are doing a little research on the Black Fountain. Reggies numbers are real close, Still got some dialing in to do. Always remember that the Checkmate will always get better gas milage...lol

CAB 08-17-2011 08:55 PM

I had to ask because you wouldn't show me anything sunday.

espeed 08-18-2011 07:06 AM

lol.. I hear ya :cool-smiley-011:, Well it's looking like you will still be king of the lake. With our current setup, it looks like high 80's to 90 tops. I don't think we will be climbing past 90 without changing things pretty drastically and thats not on our agenda list. We are just pleased for it to be running period. That thing had a hundred little gremlins we had to chase down and we still haven't fixed all of them yet. We are planning on being on the flint Sunday, maybe we will see yaw out there.

CAB 08-18-2011 03:10 PM

I am planning on coming. I have not had it out in a month.

I guess my 32 must be defective. Factory run sheet says 83mph with 500 efi's. The year before I bought it previous owner hit 97mph at loto shootout with motors that tyler thought were making around 700hp, bravo drives with imco gears and 36in bravo one props.

Reggie Fountain 08-20-2011 01:43 PM

With 700 HP your boat should be a 100 plus
Mph boat.

Reggie, I have a 98 32 fever with all blue gelcoat with red victory stripes. The hull has a total of 7 hrs with the drives holding only 5. This boat has been heavily modified with the entire cockpit being pushed back towards the stern 12inches. You really have to look to notice the change, the work is finaminal! we are installing 588 talldecks with a 1:36 drive ratio. This is a one of a kind fever with a classic look. You should take a look at this one, the only fever i know of with as many alterations performed.

Reggie Fountain 08-21-2011 10:28 AM

I would love to take a look at it. It should fly, that would be a real fun one to setup.
