Anyway to access the FRONT of a fuel tank on a 27?
 

I have fumes... I think the fumes are coming from this Area. I wonder if a hose or something is damaged on the front of the tank. If so, I'd be sh&t out of luck. right? when the boat was built, it looks the they put packing around the opening where the fuel filler and breather come out of the bilge. Was this to help keep fumes out of the cabin? It looks to have worked it's way out of the opening completey.

Anybody with knoledge on this would be greatly appreciated

my 29 has a fuel door under the back seat that gives access to the fuel gauge sender and thats about. I would think you would be looking at tearing the boat apart in this case. Try looking for a tank sealer.

If you remove the port side mirror in the cabin, you should be able to get access to the filler and vent hoses.

Sounds Like It Might Need A Tank. Hopefully It's Just A Hose.

Can you remove the tank by pulling the motor and cutting a hole on the rear bulk head? Slide it out the back? Or do you have to cut a hole in the floor\\?. I would like to find a better way to access the front of the tank if possible. If anyone has done it, please let me know

You have to cut the cockpit floor out to remove the tank.

like i said look around for a sealing compound like a BAR-S leak for a radiator(not sayin that would work just an example). Be worth a try before ripping your floor up and probably paying thousands to do it.

Thanks ! but if it is damaged. Stop leak will not hold it together. Because It was stonger than stop leak to begin with. It's probly cracked from ocean racing

Yes I've heard of that before, especially in boats built before 99-00. We did quite of few of them. Fiberglass is flexible where the aluminum tank is rigid. What yr is your boat?
